In the spring of 2007, a massive landslide disrupted a key area of the Volcanoes of Kamchatka World Heritage Site in eastern Russia. The Valley of the Geysers, discovered in 1941, is located in a hidden canyon deep in the territory of the Kronotsky Biosphere Preserve on the volcanic Kamchatka Peninsula. The first St. Regis resort in Asia is unveiling the first English-style butlers to the island hospitality industry when the The St. Regis Bali Resort opens in September.
The resort is also the first in the island to have an international Chief Butler, Tony Sharp and Assistant Chief Butler, Robert Johnson, winner of utler of the Year? award, an international award conferred by the International Butler Association.
Tony Sharp has been butler to the US ambassador to Australia and tycoon Kerry Packer. His last assignment was Chief Concierge and Head Butler, training butlers at the exclusive The Nam Hai Hoi An resort in Vietnam. His assistant Robert Johnson, a graduate of Britain oldest and best butler school, Ivor Spensor, was personal butler for 10 years to Asia prominent Ong family, including four years as Head Butler and Assistant Estate Manager at Parrot Cay Resort in Turks & Caicos.
